BULLETIN 18

May 21, 2007

NABET-CWA and ABC, Inc. negotiators resumed talks for a successor Master Agreement at 1:30pm CDT today in Chicago, Illinois, following an eight week recess. In a strong show of solidarity, several Local 41 active and retired members joined the Network Negotiating Committee as observers.

At the outset of today's session, Sector President and Chief Spokesperson John S. Clark reiterated the Union's desire to use this time here in Chicago productively to attempt to reach an agreement with ABC, but stressed that this goal is a difficult one to attain based on the large number of Company proposals on the table, many of which are damaging to NABET-CWA members.

After brief opening remarks by both sides, the parties spent time exchanging a number of modifications and counter-proposals. The Union and the Company then adjourned into respective caucuses to review and evaluate today's exchange.

Negotiations are scheduled to resume tomorrow, May 22nd, at 10 AM CDT.

The Union Bargaining Committee reminds all members to ignore rumors. All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered on the Sector website at www.abc-contract.info. Please also check Local websites, hotlines, and e-mail for additional information.
