BULLETIN 26
June 1, 2007
When negotiations resumed at 8:30 A.M. today, CWA President Larry Cohen joined NABET-CWA Sector President/Chief Spokesperson John S. Clark, along with the entire Network Negotiating Committee at the bargaining table for an open and frank discussion with ABC representatives about the current status of these contract talks.
President Cohen's poignant remarks to the ABC Committee covered a wide range of open contract items important to the entire membership affected by these negotiations. Jurisdiction, future technology, health care, and retirement security were among the topics covered in his address today. He encouraged the Company to use a framework of trust and honesty in these negotiations and suggested that the parties work harder to explore common ground and advance common goals.
Sector President Clark and the entire Union Bargaining Committee built on President Cohen's remarks by emphasizing the great pride NABET-CWA members have in the jobs they perform and contributions they make to ABC at every location of the Company.
Talks have concluded, as scheduled, for this round. NABET-CWA and ABC are currently discussing potential dates and locations to commence the next round of bargaining this summer. In the meantime, the Network Negotiating Committee will be reviewing the latest series of ABC proposal modifications submitted late this week. Any information concerning future negotiations schedules, as well as a posting of current Union and Company proposals will be made available on the internet at www.abc-contract.info as soon as possible.
The Union Bargaining Committee reminds all members to ignore rumors. All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered via the Sector and Local websites, hotlines, and e-mail lists.
