The NABET-CWA Network Negotiating Committee met via conference call on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007. Sector President and Union Chief Spokesperson John S. Clark confirmed that negotiations with ABC are scheduled to resume from August 20th through August 28th in Chicago, IL. These sessions will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Downtown/Lakefront. NABET-CWA members are invited to attend the bargaining sessions as observers. If you plan on being present as an observer, please check with the Local 41 office (312-372-4111) in advance of traveling to the Embassy Suites to insure that a bargaining session will be taking place during the time you plan to attend as an observer. The scheduling of bargaining sessions is always subject to change.
On the conference call Bargaining Committee member Gene Maxwell (Local 16) reported that he had compiled a series of documents that contained the most current version (as of June 1, 2007 when the latest round of talks recessed) of the "open" proposals and a document that contains the proposals on which there is a "tentative agreement" between the parties. The current/updated proposals are now available for viewing/downloading on the www.abc-contract.info website by clicking on the appropriate link at the top of the homepage for either the Company Proposals or the Union Proposals. The documents containing these proposals are presented for informational purposes only. Every effort has been made to insure that the documents are complete and accurate but the Bargaining Committee reserves the right to modify, correct, or amend the documents and/or the Union proposals at any time.
Bargaining Committee members also discussed plans for the upcoming CWA Convention in Toronto, Canada and some future mobilization and political action activities. Local Mobilization Coordinators will be participating in a national conference call next week to discuss coordinated activities among all locals.
