BULLETIN 30

NABET-CWA and ABC, Inc. negotiators resumed talks today at 1:00 P.M. with Stephen A. King, FSA, of Bolton Partners, Inc. giving a credible fact based presentation refuting the Company's reasons for proposing to freeze the ABC-NABET Retirement Trust. Mr. King's presentation concluded that due to the responsible management from the Plans' Trustees, the future of the ABC-NABET Retirement Trust Fund looks bright. Mr. King remarked at one point in the presentation. "This Plan is in great shape." All of the NABET-CWA Trustees were present at the table for both the presentation as well as the discussion that ensued thereafter. Immediately after the Union's presentation, the ABC Committee requested a caucus, and upon returning, had no questions about the presentation, and only proceeded to parrot the party line heard many times before by the Union committee. When the parties resumed talks, the Union accepted ten proposals and withdrew one proposal.
Many of the Local 41 observers present at today's bargaining session expressed their appreciation to Mr. King for his excellent presentation.
The Sick Leave and Sports subcommittees met earlier in the day, and the parties are scheduled to resume negotiations tomorrow at 9:00 A.M.
The Union Bargaining Committee reminds all members to ignore rumors. All official negotiation and mobilization information will be delivered on the Sector website at www.abc-contract.info. Please also check Local websites, hotlines, and e-mail for additional information.
