 NABET-CWA/ABC Negotiations Bulletin 34

 BULLETIN 34

August 27, 2007

After spending the entire day Sunday meeting in private caucus reviewing all open items, the Union returned today to the bargaining table and met with Company representatives in two different sessions.  Union negotiators withdrew more than a dozen proposals, and reached agreement with the Company on several others.

Much of the discussion in the morning session focused on Sideletter DN (Digital Cameras and Related Equipment), Sideletter EP-1 (ABC Productions for Basic Cable) and new Sideletter 16 (Graphics Operator Work on Sports Remotes).  The Company characterized Sideletter EP-1 and Sideletter 16 as proposals made in response to the Union's desire for expanded work opportunities for NABET-CWA members.  The parties spent considerable time examining these important issues.

During the afternoon session, the Company presented some additional counterproposals and withdrew the proposal on Section 8.6(c) (Daily Schedule Changes).

NABET-CWA and Disney/ABC negotiators are scheduled to resume negotiations at 10:00 AM on Tuesday morning.
